MC War’s Keith Murray Vs Fredro Starr Rap Battle Is Back On With Added Access

Hip Hop veterans Keith Murray and Fredro Starr were supposed to face off in a MC War rap battle on September 28th, but the showdown was cancelled at the last minute due to financial issues.

The promoters and the emcees have settled whatever issues prevented the match from taking place, and the two rap stars will finally meet at a rescheduled event.

The reset main event of NWO2 will take place November 21 at The Atrium in Stone Mountain, Georgia.

The event will also air on pay-per-view Thanksgiving Day, November 27 with pre-sales beginning November 1.

A limited number of free tickets for the live show are available at mcwar.com

“We did this [offering free tickets] to give back to those fans that really want to be there to experience part of Hip Hop history, also all those that purchased tickets for the previous date will be honored,” stated MC Wars’ Chief Operating Officer Amir James in an email to AllHipHop.com.

“We also want to thank Keith Murray and Fredro Starr for their sportsman like conduct in allowing us to reschedule the event.”

DMX Show In New England Canceled Over Concerns Of Violence

A concert featuring superstar rapper DMX has been canceled at the urging of police in New England, over concerns of violence.

DMX was supposed to hit the stage at Whites of Westport on September 7, but a number of incidents in the area moved police to urge Whites, as well as the local promoter Hurricane Promotions, to cancel the concert.

“This cancellation is very unfortunate. DMX loves to perform for his fans and hates to have to reschedule his shows.
However, we are still taking bookings and are hoping to create a national tour this Fall,

Two men were shot – one fatally – at a Providence nightclub over the weekend, while a show featuring Philadelphia rapper Cassidy ended in brawls early Friday morning (August 24).

“Local law enforcement strongly advised us against doing this,” White’s VP Chris Lafrance told The Herald News. “We’ll regroup, maybe find some acts that fit a little better for the venue.”

Hurricane Promotions’ Michael Herren said that he had a security plan in place for the DMX concert and didn’t expect any issues, despite the violence last weekend.

“Unfortunately when people talk about gun violence, rap music is often intertwined,” Herren told The Herald News.

In addition to White’s own in-house security, ten state police were slated to be stationed around the venue, which can hold around 1,500 people.

Several hundred tickets had already been sold at $33 a-piece. Those fans who paid in advance can receive a full refund from Whites.

To present a living legend like Nas properly, you have to start at the beginning. Nasir Jones grew up in Brooklyn, New York. His father, Olu Dara, a jazz musician who played with Art Blakey amongst others, got him hooked on music at a young age.

When he heard his next door neighbour scratching vinyl records, he fell in love with the first big hip hop stars like Rakim, Eric B. and Marley Marl.

This laid the foundations for the career of one of the most talented rappers of all time. Ever since his first album Illmatic in 1994, which many consider to be the greatest 40 minutes in rap history, Nas has been recognized for his raw and poetic texts that skillfully describe the world around him.

These rhymes are accompanied by powerful and catchy beats. Illmatic and the next 7 albums have all gone platinum. But more important than album sales and his quarrels with Jay-Z is the fact that Nas has never lost his convictions.

At 39, he’s still a hip hop artist through-and-through.

Just ask any of the lucky people who saw his triumphant performance at Tour & Taxis two years ago with another legendary figure, Damian Marley.

This time Nas wil come accompanied by a full live band.

K-Ci and Jojo Perform at Fresh Music Festival, Singer Falls Offstage - Video

Crooners K-Ci and Jojo are currently on tour as part of the Fresh Music Festival, alongside singers Keith Sweat and SWV. The duo, known for their late '90s hits "All My Life" and their Tupac Shakur collaboration "How Do U Want It," took the stage in Charleston, S.C., on June 16 and they experienced a disaster within the first few seconds of grabbing the mic.

The R&B team walked out to a full band and hummed through some notes, warming up the crowd for their soulful set. Unfortunately, while K-Ci and Jojo stood on top of a raised platform, the descent of one was less than pleasant.

Jojo walked down the platform and missed his step, falling hard, which caused women in the audience to shriek at the sight.

K-Ci was unaware of his fellow singer's dilemma and continued walking down his own set of stairs with ease. After looking back over his shoulder, he finally realized Jojo was nowhere to be found. But he soon reappeared and seemed to be in good spirits, laughing off his blunder.

The 41-city Vans Warped Tour is in full swing from June 16 through August 5, and the country’s independent Hip-Hop scene has a larger presence than ever at the national festival.

During the tour, AllHipHop.com has joined with Someone Clothing and other major sponsors to present the “BringItBackTour” stage powered by GoalZero, featuring music performances, B-Boy showcases, live art, DJ exhibitions, and local talent search with ReverbNation.
