Lil' Kim Says Tupac and Notorious B.I.G.'s Murders are "Bigger Than Suge Knight"
Today marks the fourteenth anniversary of the tragic shooting of the Notorious B.I.G., and the occasion is even more bittersweet for his friends, family and fans as recent reports implicate the LAPD in a cover-up of potentially revealing evidence in his case. Now, one of Biggie's proteges and closest collaborators Lil' Kim took the occasion to speak on the loss of her Bad Boy teammate and friend.
During an interview with Power 93.5 FM's Lady T earlier, the Queen Bee explained that she discounts the rumors that link Death Row CEO Suge Knight to her Junior M.A.F.I.A. partner and his rival Tupac Shakur 1997 murders. She believes that the culprit is the government, who she say viewed both artists as a threat to their established power structure.
"I always felt like Biggie and Tupac's deaths were bigger than how they tried to make it out to believe it to be," she said. "It's bigger than Suge Knight being involved. I think it was even over his head. Them two were very powerful guys. They both could have ran for mayor just like Arnold Schwarzenegger and probably won. You know, I think the government was looking at it like, 'We could not have these two hood dudes with this much power running for mayor and something like that and winning.' They would have lost control I think. I think it was way deeper than what people would like to believe it to be. I can't say whether this person is involved, or that person is involved...I don't know. I do know that it's deeper than people would like to believe it to be."
