Erykah Badu Joins the Core DJs
Soul singer Erykah Badu has joined the Core DJs, one of the most acclaimed DJ collectives on the planet. Badu has been moonlighting as a DJ for quite some time to widespread acclaim from those in-the-know. The singer/songwriter has been spinning in several small, low-key venues.
"Big move today. [Erykah Badu is] in the Core. My sis is a serious DJ,” tweeted Tony Neal, the Core's founder. Badu has already decided on her DJ name: DJ Loretta Brown.
“I am honored and do not take it for granted. b-girl for life," Badu responded. "Head wrapped and strapped.” Badu will be DJing throughout her hometown of Dallas all Super Bowl weekend.
