Cool Kids, Freddie Gibbs & Bun B Form New Rap Supergroup
Hailing from the Midwest, a new rap super-group called Pulled Over by the Cops has been formed, under the tutelage of Texas rap legend, Prof. Bun B. The group is made of up Chi-Town proto-hipster MC's The Cool Kids, Chip The Ripper and Gary, Indiana gangsta rapper Freddie Gibbs, with occasional appearances by UGK's Bun B.
The crew first appeared with Bun on Freddie Gibbs' 2010 track 'Oil Money,' and have reportedly been working together since, recording several tracks for an album which will be produced by Chicago production team the Blended Babies.
'Authority,' the first offering from Pulled Over by the Cops (sans Bun), pairs the group's smooth rhymes with jazzy production by Blended Babies and a hook by singer Nate Santos, and can be heard here.
Meanwhile, after a three-year struggle with their former label Chocolate Industries, the Cool Kids are finally prepared to release their long-awaited debut LP 'When Fish Ride Bicycles,' while "Gangsta" Gibbs preps his 'Baby Faced Killa' debut for later this year, as well.
