Lupe Fiasco says his Commercial Rap Career Is “Coming To An End”

Lupe Fiasco continues to promote his on-again-off-again relationship with the music game.
Rather than just throwing in the towel, in an interview with Big Von of Bay Area radio station, 106 KMEL, Fiasco explained why he's still around.

“I'm on my way out,” he said. “I remember Jay-Z was like ‘Grand opening, grand closing.' We were like in the studio, and he was like ‘Man, you gotta' close strong too,you can't just sneak out the back.'”

Fiasco is never one to mince words when it comes to politics, or his disdain for his record label and Hip-Hop in general, all of which may have helped him reach the conclusion that his career is going in a different direction.

But since he is involved in a business, there are still a few loose ends that he needs to tie up. “Everything is a process, I still have contractual obligations, I still have to set up the system of what is post-industry Lupe's gonna' look like.”

Once he gets everything in order the Chicago native said that he will focus less on the Fiasco that the Hip-Hop world once knew, and cross over into his true self. “It's definitely coming to an end, and I say ‘An end' in its commercial space. I've kind of had my feel with being in the commercial space, I want to get more

into the artist space.”
For those fans still interested in “commercial Lupe,” be on the lookout for his forthcoming Food & Liquor 2 album set to drop this fall.

Lion Dream Records

is an independent label created by an artist to better produce and promote other artists. With the lack of publishers to help talented local artists to broadcast their music, it was important that some one take the first step and lead the way to a new generartion of self made artists.
